Re: Folding mirrors - 2006 V70 AWD
Neil, Using the correct button will look more OEM but you can use any button if you change its internal ID. The PIN code of your CEM is required to make any software changes. Volvo assigned one to each car when they left the factory. This is what more or less locks you to the dealer network for elec...

Re: Folding mirrors - 2006 V70 AWD
Hi Neil, Adding folding mirrors to your car is not a problem - I've done it with my V70 and I really appreciate them in tight parking situations. After adding the hardware (button and mirror), you will need to update your CEM's configuration to enable the feature. The configuration information does ...

Re: no electronics in cabin, anti-skid, CEM,DEM, 2010 D5 awd m66
Maybe this information can help someone down the road: Here's a scope screen shot of the LIN bus (taken at my V70 alternator). If you see this activity, chances are that your CEM harness and plug are fine. Of course your alternator might NOT be responding to the CEM, which is another issue. I've nev...

Re: 2007 XC90 Antiskid ASC yaw sensor box Repair
And for fun, here's the magic inside these modules: 2x accelerometers, measuring front/back and side-side axes (upper-right) 1x gyroscope for yaw measurements (upper-left) 1x Custom masked TMS980 DSP chip. PCB holes (red rectangle) is where the outside pins connect. You can bet that a fair bit of en...

Re: 2007 XC90 Antiskid ASC yaw sensor box Repair
I sympathize with your problem. I don't have a 30667512 Yaw module but can pass on the following wisdom: Clean up the 4 pins of the module to remove the corrosion. -Use a cardboard nail file and cut it to size to reach the module's pins. -Get some electronic contact cleaner or IPA to rinse the pins....

Re: Vida CEM swapping
As simple as pie I'll give you the code in a minute. No VIDA required It is indeed simple as pie: A quick search of your posts on MVS reveals a trend of PIN offers and secrecy. Why are you not more up front about what you do and charge (assuming this is not charity work)? Somehow reminds me of the ...

Re: 2006 xc90 Ocean Race message display scrambled
Hi, While anything is possible, I don't think that it is related to a dead battery event. As mentioned above, this is likely tied to a bad solder joint in the DIM/LCD area. If you're handy and patient, get a DIM from a boneyard (many Volvo models will do), extract the LCD and replace it in your curr...

Re: Key locked inside the car, 2nd remote not unlocking
Another simple thing to check: With the key in the ignition (Pos 0) and door open, does your chime (ding-ding) activate? If you cannot hear the chime, the CEM is not detecting a key in the ignition. That signal is important as it prevents you from locking the doors with a key in the ignition. This s...

thank you so much for sharing and for the feedback! It's great to hear we can add aux lights without software mods. Did you have to pay a lot to update your CCM? I assumed that we'd need some software update to add any features to the CCM, but it's nice the aux lights work without update, my dad mi...

Re: Which serial number is for the s/w?
In my opinion the sw version is only available via CAN aka VIDA reading of the SW modules. I second Dikidera's opinion as the Volvo firmware in the DDM could have been upgraded at some point. Get a DiCE + VIDA setup going and read the version information of that module. You're lucky in that your mo...
