Re: Has anyone mounted driving lamps onto the roof rack?

The problem with high mounted headlights is that with any particulates in the air, such as dust, rain or snow, the light will illuminate them and not the road. You used to see rally cars with lights mounted high, but I think they are all top of bumper now.

Re: '98 V70 FWD Stick, Non-Turbo -- Starting Woes II

you should have it in third or fourth. Second is too much gear. The motor should be turning, you wouldn't even need the starter to start if the start was bad or the battery weak. How bright are the headlights? If weak, the battery is not strong enough and needs either charging or replacement.

one bar is one atmosphere which is 14.7 psi. 30 psi would be ~2 bar.

Re: New Kevlar timing belt. Different install procedure

How will you know you get longer life, unless you run it until it dies, and then it's too late. It may also be outside the 2-3 standard deviations from average life, so you also wouldn't know anyway.
Anyway, good luck with the new timing belt, and keep an eye on the water pump.

Re: Cannot put New timing belt on!

Is it a new tensioner or old? Keep the pin holding it compressed in until finished. I left the two bolts holding it on loose until the timing belt was completely on, tightened the bolts and then released the clip holding it in. Actually, I did it 3-4 times because it wasn't timed correctly the first...

Re: 1998 S70 T-5 odometer problem

My 98 S70 has a mechanical odometer/tripmeter recently repaired with the gears sold on e-bay. When you say the odometer doesn't work, what doesn't it do?

Re: frozen lug nuts

PB Blaster a couple of times, an hour or so between each time, put on the parking brake also while trying to loosen. If that doesn't work find a friend with a high torque air wrench. Be warned, the lug bolt may break.

Re: starter ok, still whirs Help please

If the starter and solenoid are OK, the next thing to check is the ring gear on the flywheel. If there is a spot where a couple of the teeth are worn, when the starter teeth get to that spot, they will not engage and just spin. The solution to this is to pull the motor and either replace the ring ge...

Re: '98 S70 Strut Replacement Woes

After reading several posts with frozen nuts when changing struts, I feel lucky. In the process of changing struts, timing belt, RMS, and alternator and so far, all bolts have come off relatively easy. Should finish pulling engine today and putting back together tomorrow. Even the four nuts on the e...

Re: 1995 Volvo 850 Auto Engine and transmission Removal

Is there a way to separate the engine from the transmission by by dropping the subframe? Every place i looked pulls the engine from the top. I have a lift so raising the car is not a problem. If I pull the whole engine out to get to the RMS, I might as well change all the seals and possibly go to sy...
