Re: Misfiring and transmission shift problem - related?
Pulled the old plugs and found they were Joachim Platinum+4. Other posts I read suggested the single prong plugs, so that is what I used. Car has run fine since replacing those P+4s and the wires. The granny issue may be a temperamental "S/E/W" button. Overall, so far so good. I hope it la...

Re: Misfiring and transmission shift problem - related?
My S70 is NA (non-turbo) but I'll start with the intake manifold like you suggest. I replaced the PCV about a year ago so maybe something didn't get reconnected or broke during that repair.jblackburn wrote:From there, investigate around the throttle body and turbocharger area.

Re: Misfiring and transmission shift problem - related?
"No" to both ABS light and speed sensor codes. If it is a vacuum hose, where should I look first?

Re: Misfiring and transmission shift problem - related?
Thanks. I'll check. Would broken vacuum hoses throw a vacuum leak code?

Misfiring and transmission shift problem - related?
I have a 1998 S70, 2.4L, non-turbo that has been misfiring, sputtering and even stalling. It also has an issue where the tranny shifts into 4th(?) gear at low speeds (40mph) causing me to accelerate at low rpms. It will downshift into 3rd gear at 45 or if I accelerate hard or reduce speed below 40. ...

Could bad PCV system cause engine misfire?
I suspect I have a bad PCV due to the amount of oil leaking from various places, including my distributor. Could this cause an engine misfire? I get ODBII codes for "multiple engine misfire". Replacing the PCV seems a huge hassle since it's located under the manifold. I know it needs to be...

Loose distributor rotor shield
While replacing my distributor cap and rotor last weekend, I noticed the cone-shaped shield (with the o-ring) was fairly loose. In fact, when I installed the old shield with my new cap and rotor (Bosch #03371 and #04272), the shield wanted to fall out. Should this shield be a tight fit? I had a lot ...

Front door panel sticks
A few weeks ago, the front left door panel (driver's side) started sticking on my S70. It seems to be catching on the trim between the door and the driver's seat at the bottom of the door (where the trim curves up near the seat belt floor panel). Over the past few weeks, the sticking has even pulled...
