Re: S 80 Sunroof Won't Close

This is weird. Today I replaced the button to operate the sunroof (which already didn't work when I bought the car; according to the person I bought the car from - a Volvo mechanic - the switch had to be replaced). As I already thought in advance, replacing the switch didn't result in a functional s...

Re: My car stalls, rpm fluctuates & hesitate to start mornin

I'm having similar kind of problems. After having replaced a few parts (lambdasensor and MAF-sensor) I've decided to live with it. But then again it might be not so bad as in your case. After about a 100mtrs (300ft) the car runs OK, so it's not worth spending lots of cash on it, without being sure i...

Re: service transmission urgent warning

I've heard more of those instances last couple of weeks. Has your car been standing in very hot sunlight for a long time? Might be a sensor measuring out-of-the-ordinary things just because of that.

Re: Pulling hair out! '99 S80 Rough Idle, Limp, NO CODES!

The ETM was from an identical model so it shouldn't need to be aligned like a new one would. The alignment is required for new since the same throttle is used in multiple applications. It's definitely installed correctly and the gasket is fine. Not sure what you are saying, but a new/other ETM ALWA...

Re: 99 s80 T6 will not start

I'm not sure there is a way to test it. Thank the Swedish designers that it can't be bypassed. If you could do that, then any car thief can do it as well ;)

Maybe the Volvo dealer can check the ecu to see if there are any error messages pointing to the antenna ring.

Re: 99 s80 T6 will not start

It's a dealer part only, I guess. I replaced it twice on my V70, but I'm pretty sure it's the same on a S80. You have to remove the upper and lower plastic caps right behind the steering wheel. After that you can see the round antenna ring around the contact switch. You should be able to remove it b...

Re: 99 s80 T6 will not start

I was hoping there was a message like "start prevented" or something like that (not sure what the message is in English). In that case it would probably have been a bad antenna in the contact (where you put your key in; again, not sure how it's called in English), which is fairly easy to e...

Have you tried reinserting the key a few times? Is there any message in the computer's display?

Re: 2000 S80 T6 dies/starts/dies

I'm not sure, really. How much would you have to pay for it? And does it come with warranty? If it's above 100US$, I would buy an original one. Ditto if it comes without warranty.

Re: 2000 S80 lube points ?

Actually it's a surprise to me that there's a diagram of lube points of an 850. Just like a more modern S80, I believe an 850 doesn't have any of them.
