Thank you for the reply. The tires had the inner row of tread worn to cords. To close this thread I'll report that I changes both control arms that had soft rear bushings and loose, but no play, ball joints. Hello all,

Well we did install a new alt. in my friend's Subie and the voltage stays in the 13V range while idling and all the AC stuff running. The clutch now cycles perfectly!

It does sound like you paid allot for the parts. eeuroparts lists the belt and both pulleys for $140. But repair shops do mark up the prices. As far as having the belt fail in 2k mi I would think that is a workmanship issue. If the bearing in the new pulley was not good it would have still lasted mo...
