Re: 850 rear washer (hose clogged)

Since a picture is worth a thousand words... 1 Having removed the moulding for the liftgate, here is the valve I was expecting after studying the VADIS PDF posted by MadeInJapan in "Volvo 850 Wagon Rear Window Washer" : http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz228/bubbaguppy/relief%20valve1/1V...

Re: 850 rear washer (hose clogged)

I apologize for starting a new thread instead of posting my original problem in:

Volvo 850 Wagon Rear Window Washer

I thought I had a different enough situation, but it turns out not really.

@thecheat:
It sounds like you are describing the washer supply line and the in-line filter.

Re: 850 rear washer (hose clogged)

Thanks meine39 - everything looks good as far as the hoses connecting into the filter. I am certain that the 2nd valve is the culprit. There are forensic signs of washer spray collected all around the valve. I'll replace both of these valves. The VADIS doc showed the standard relief/syphon valve (ne...

Re: 850 rear washer (hose clogged)

I have made a discovery in preparing to replace the hose I mentioned. Upon removing the black plastic cover that protects the hose as it runs along the right hand side hinge, I discovered an additional relief valve, or anti-syphon valve, or whatever these things are. I wager this is the problem, and...

850 rear washer (hose clogged)

1994 850 turbo wagon 152K. The rear washer quit. I followed posts to diagnose. The posts I found with the VADIS PDF for the wiper/washer systems was enormously helpful, as was the information about the filter. The pump is good, and the filter is passing fluid. I expected the problem to be the pressu...

Re: 850 Power seat wiring - "2" questions.

Thanks!
I went into the console and joined the BLU/YEL and the YEL/RED wires at the harness point to where the switch for the driver seat heat would be and I have the 25A power for my seat that I was looking for.
I couldn't be happier.

Re: 850 Power seat wiring - "2" questions.

Thanks, Lee No my buggie did not have the heated seats option, nor the heated mirrors option (which I would much rather have!). Your post is very, very helpful. Going through the diagrams for the heated seats, I see that the green/brown wire under the passenger seat is intended for the heated seat. ...

850 Power seat wiring - "2" questions.

I own a 1994 855/SW (850 Turbo Wagon). 152K miles. I am fitting a Recaro seat to it. (Orthoped 2005 vintage) The original Volvo seat is very tired, and I have a variety of physical problems from a severe accident this past January. The Recaro seat has simple wiring - apparently relatively light gaug...

Re: Introducing myself

Thanks, JABlackburn for the info about the TIming belt and the PCV sys.

I'll look through the service records and get on this.
I'm a bit confused about how reply works in this particular form, please excuse if this comes out as an error somewhere.

Introducing myself

Hi, My name is Dave and I live in Colorado. I am a reasonable backyard mechanic, and have done most of the work on my previous vehicles - mainly Toyotas and Hondas. I was in a horrible accident back in January and lost the ability to operate a clutch. To that end I am replacing the trusty Corolla wa...
