Re: Time to say goodbye....T5

In remembrance of her I removed the CEM. Just like Walt Disney it will remain on ice for a while.

Re: ETM repair

If I had a faulty board, wouldn't the affect the side that has sensor #2? If the ETM is retrofit with a contactless sensor, does not that take #1 sensor out of the equation? Sensor #2 seems to be working just fine. If the board is faulty, could it not even be repaired by Xemodex? I've had at least ...

Re: ETM repair

If it reads 108 degrees on sensor 1 you either have a faulty board or sensor 1 (rear side sensor with 5 contacts and motor) potentiometer carbon film is corroded (chances of a corroded film are very low in my experience)

Re: Time to say goodbye....T5

In the Melbourne region we have very rare 0 degC 32degF but rarely so. No snow and mild Summers. It's colder in Tasmania of course. The little devils thrive in that. We have various mountain ranges for skiing where there's plentiful snowfall: Buller, Hotham, Lake Mountain and of course the inland Ne...

Re: it all started slowly, motor issues, 2,4T, MY2001

I had a similar issue with my Feb 2000 build T5 (P2 model) due to the throttle. When using Vida you can take a look at throttle position 1 and 2 separately in ECM or ETM Parameters. Check that you can see both throttle angles changing in a linear fashion when depressing the accelerator. This is easi...

Same ball joint anyway, whether base or XC. I once tried a cheap brand of ball joint on a XC70 2001 and couldn't get it seated correctly. Wasted time and effort. Lemforder make great parts for Volvo if they're the real thing.

Go to FCP Euro for far more accurate part listings. Buying from some eBay sellers can be so risky. If you're not satisfied with that get a running copy of Vida installed. Once you have a part number from Vida you can go to Tasca Parts and see if it's been updated by Volvo. So far this method hasn't ...

Time to say goodbye....T5

My 2001 T5 (actually a Feb 2000 build) was offloaded today after a 4 year love/hate relationship.  Major gripes: ABS controller (DSTC)  not able to be repaired and a used replacement costing almost $300 also didn't work.  A new controller is worth over AUD $1,500 to land here and the yaw sensors for...

Re: 1995 into 1999 engine swap thread , Mike 2012

If both cars (donor and recipient) are turbo there is another issue; not the cylinder head. You need to stick with the 1999 head. Check compression readings and report back in.

Re: AW55-50SN problem

He can also help with the Vida install as he is a software engineer and knows the system very well. Good luck and keep us posted !! Like my transmission it can be down to one small solenoid which are easily found online.
