Re: Need new tires and have no clue which kind
Interesting suggestion. I got the Yoko yk520 today for $84 each. I can't comment on them just yet, because I'm still getting used to the new struts and shocks I put on yesterday. What a difference! I'd forgotton how well my car rode when I bought it!! Anyway, I think your recommendation was a good o...

Re: Need new tires and have no clue which kind
Any consideration for Bridgestone or a new tire with excellent reviews from HanKook? I can get the Yoko Avid for $83. But I can't find any good reviews for this tire.

Re: Need new tires and have no clue which kind
I'm replacing Sumotomo's. Got 55K on a 70K tire. They were very noisey too. Why does Volvo only recommend rotating from front to back as opposed to rotating in all 4 directions? I understand you have to do that if they are directional, but what about when the are symetrical (non-directional)?

Need new tires and have no clue which kind
I am in need of new tires. I have a 2001 V70 base (195/65R15). I unemployed so I am looking for a good value. Quality plus price. I've done quite a bit of research and read reviews and still do not have a clue as to which ones I should get. I don't want to spend much more than $80 each. I will spend...

Re: Mounting hardware for front struts and rear shocks
Today I did one more round of PB Blaster and made sure that I had all the tools and I could losen every nut and bolt. It does not look like I will need the nuts and bolts in question, but they were not cheap at the Volvo dealer. $50 for 6 bolts and 4 nuts! That's nuts! I bought them anyway just in c...

Mounting hardware for front struts and rear shocks
I am getting ready to replace the front struts and rear shocks on my 2001 V70. I purchased a kit from FCPgroton for both. The only parts it did not inlude are the nuts and bolts for the strut to hub assembly and the bolt and nut for the rear assembly. I have the Volvo part numbers, but Autozone, Nap...

Re: Am I throwing good money after bad
I agree with both of you. jda thanks for the heads up on where to purchase a new booster. flylow, thanks for the trouble shooting tips as well. I am going to keep it. The next thing I am going to do is purchase a used rear view mirrow to repair my defective one (auto tinting issue). I found very det...

Re: Power Brake Booster
Guys, I got in the new unit today installed it this afternoon and all is working properly now. It was obviously a much better part then the one I got from NAPA. It came with the "flat" o-ring, just like the orginal. it came with a new pressure switch installed. It had a plastic cover of th...

Am I throwing good money after bad
I have a 2001 V70 Base. It has 220K on it. It’s arguably the best car I’ve ever had and I really do “love my car”. I just replaced the brake booster, replaced the lower control arms recently and over the last few years have had to replace the a/c compressor, oxygen sensors and other miscellaneous pa...

Re: Power Brake Booster
I did the test again and as I loosened the nuts on the MS the tires rotated more freely. It's definately the booster. Just called NAPA to make sure they would take it back. FCPgroton looks like the best place to go. $216 for the booster. If this works like it should I will want to replace brake pads...
