Re: Libations

Went grocery shopping with the misses last weekend and thru a case of New Castle in the cart. She said "What are you doing? Put that back it is not in the food budget!" " But it is on sale!" I exclaimed, "So what put it back!" so I did. A couple of rows later she placed...

Re: smoke coming through vents?

Smoking Vents! The year was 1975 my good friend Richard picked me up for a night on the town in his old mans pride Buick Skylark. We were on our way to pick up the girls and I was diligently rolling doobies on the glove box door. I sparked one up, took a hit then placed it on the dash while I bent o...

Re: Gates timing belt kit.

If you want to have a cam seal blow out go with Elring. If you want no future problems go down to the Volvo dealer and purchase Volvo brand seals. My 2 rear cam seals lasted to 175K before leaking and the fronts never leaked. Regards, SpeedyPete

Re: 1998 s70 T5 M Koni FSD Shocks/Struts

Hey Shake: J is right. These cars will not ride like a Caddy even with stock struts and shocks. A while back I was on a road trip and blew out a strut bushing/mount to the point of were I could move the front tire in and out by pushing/pulling on it with my hands. I was in a jam on time constraints,...

Re: 2000 V70 Which brake rotors should i buy?

Hello I use breakperformance.com and buy their premium slotted/dimpled rotors. In the past I have gone thru 2 sets of Volvo OEM blue box,1- Brembo and 1-other unknow brand which all warped in about 20K miles or less. Since I put the break performance rotors on 80K ago still problem free and lots of ...

Re: 1998 V70 exhaust cam seal - massive leak? .

Hi Kahl: Just replace the rear cam seal to stop the oil leak . It is an easy job to do. Just make sure you use only volvo brand seal. They are worth the extra $. Lots of other brands do not fit right even if they say OE. I bought mine for like $20 at the dealer and consider it cheap because it has b...

Re: PCV System Repair on a Volvo 5-cylinder

Hello all: Here are a couple of things to consider when doing the PCV Repair. I have done a few of these and have found that the fancy OEM or aftermarket hose set which runs between the trap and the PTC nipple are the weakest link in the chain. I use 1/4" and 5/8" Fuel/Emission hose to rep...
