Re: pulls to right
Thought torque steer was when a large in line engine (not transverse mounted like volvo) was quickly gased so that the spining crank would cause torque and the engine would lean or rock in the direction of the spin causing the front end to do the same and the alignment would briefly cause the car to...

Re: pulls to right
In another forum someone was having a similar problem. Othen then what I read in that the only other idea I can come up with is if the trans has some ability to provide more power to one wheel then the other when strongly accelerating or some component designed to keep wheel in place allows some sli...

Re: 850 heater core issues/bypass
Think you have to find where on firewall hoses were attached. Verify you have heater core and the tubes connecting at the bottom that go through the firewall. Then you should be able to determine what you need. Usually the core is disconnected if it leaks.

Re: checking pnp switch pins 6 & 7 and pins 5 & 9
Thanks again for your info. Went out and loosened the nut on the solenoid where the battery pos is connected and retightened trying to see where any other wires were connected and now it starts. Guess I need to clean those connectors on the cable ends since the new starter was installed.

Re: checking pnp switch pins 6 & 7 and pins 5 & 9
Thanks Jimmy57, will try in AM. Solenoid has what appears to be 3 connection points. Looking at back of it I see thick red cable on stud with nut on lower right, stud with nut on lower left with smaller cable, and a spade recepticle with no cable on top. When I short battery plus to lower left I get...

Re: Time for a new PNP switch?
prior to taking switch out may I suggest you gain access to the electrical connector the switch connects to and separate it to access the pins and determine whether pins 5 and 9 on the connector are shorted when the transmission is in reverse. I believe these are the reverse switching part of the sw...

96 850 abs module repair
Hi, steve in mt arlington nj with 96 850 (1st volvo for me) 200+ miles. abs and trac lights on, speedo reads 40-45 (erratic).
