Re: Vacuum hose destinations on 2001 V70 T5
Thanks for all the help, the only hose that I need to find where it goes now is the relief valve on the turbo (blow-off valve). Is this the one that goes to the inlet manifold? Thanks again for the 2 replies. Mark.

Vacuum hose destinations on 2001 V70 T5
I looked to find if this had been covered in this forum, but have been unable to find what I need. I have a 2001 V70 T5 auto that I have just replaced the engine. Everything is connected except 4 vacuum hoses that I was stupid enough not to write down the locations for before I started this job. The...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 Engine compatibility
Thanks again Raymansean & Jimmy57. Weather (and work!!) have suspended my activities for the last couple of days... I have got as far as removing the heat shield over the turbo and removed the top engine mount to get more access to the area behind the engine. My next job is to raise the car up o...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 Engine compatibility
Well, today was the exploratory day as I had to fix wifes Camry, Power window on drivers side not working - traced it to broken wires in the harness where it passes through the door hinges - another problem of living in Canada, wires don't like to bend that much when it gets cold! Back to the Volvo ...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 Engine compatibility
Thanks RaymanSean & Otis44, I will try there but I expect it can't be too difficult. I just remember when I needed to replace my front driveshafts on this car, I came accross a picture-by-picture photo essay with unbelievable instructions of how to do it - made the job so easy and straightforwar...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 Engine compatibility
Thanks again for the input, I was not being lazy, I just couldn't find anything on this site that goes through removal of the T5 turbo (still can't!!). The weather is now warm enough that I can get to removing the plugs and doing a decent compression test and while I have the wrenches out, take this...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 Engine compatibility
Thanks a lot for the input, I went back to the car today as ot has warmed up to @ zero degrees (C). From what I can see, the oil dipstick shows lots of oil (5-30 weight Castrol, changed August or @2200 miles ago) so I started the car - started right away and did not display no oil message but noised...

2001 V70 T5 Engine compatibility
I have an 01 T5 wagon with 180k on the clock, has started smoking badly from the tailpipe at the same time the "no oil pressure" warning came on. Car is US model but in Canada at the moment and it happened in minus 28 degrees temp. Looks like the engine is toast! What are my options in ter...
