'96 850T Door lock re locks when using key.
If I try to open my driver's door with the key, the door re locks. If I hold the key in the open position and pull the door open then the alarm sounds as it should. System works fine with the remote. Is this as simple as a linkage adjustment issue or something more sinister in the electronics sent t...

Re: 1996 850 Turbo No boost.
I found a hole in one of the intercooler hoses. That simple. But thank you for making me carefully inspect each hose!

1996 850 Turbo No boost. RESOLVED
Just completed a valve job and the car ran great except the boost was a bit weak. Gradually got to be no boost. But the car was otherwise driving well, no drivability problems at all. Then the TPS went out. Replaced it and it was driving well again. Then the MAF went out. Replaced it and it was was ...

1996 850 Taillights: outer bulbs are dim, altitude issues
!996 850 Turbo: The outer of the 2 taillight bulbs on each side is quite dim, the inner on both sides are burning nice and bright. Has anyone had this problem? Yes, I replaced the four bulbs with a matched set. (Previous unsolved problems: Cruise control works up to about 7000 feet then quits. The a...

Santa Fe area: Mechanic recommendation?
I have been doing all the electrical repairs to get my 850T into good repair and I have a local mechanic to do the regular hoist/undercar work - so far so good. I have a broken valve spring or worse and he doesn't want to get into the engine. I don't have a garage and am getting too old for the heav...

Re: Ham Radio Wiring
JDS60R,
I really appreciate your professional reply to my question. And "right on". I had seen that tube and wondered what it was (!) but never would have guessed that Volvo would be so considerate. Anyway, it is installed and working. Thanks

Ham Radio Wiring
I am installing a 2 meter amateur radio in my 850. I need to run wires through the firewall to the battery positive and to the engine block ground/earth. Where is the best place to go through the firewall?

Radio installation problem-Alpine cda9856
Just did the mounts on my dash - phew! And now the radio doesn't work. When I first installed the radio the LR speakers did not work and I just let it be. I just re-installed the radio and now ONLY the LR speakers work. The other problem is that the instrument dimming works in reverse in the radio. ...

Re: Trans mode light on (not flashing)??
It happened again :!: It is altitude related. I was driving through the Jemez Mountains this time, the transmission arrow came on (solid NOT flashing) and I looked at my GPS: 9,200 feet. I tried hard acceleration but it would not downshift. I clicked the trans button from "economy" to &quo...
