Steve - I'm very happy you were able to get your AC system running like it's supposed to. This board really is an incredible resource. Also sorry I erroneously referred to you as Bill in a previous post!

Can't believe you can't purchase 134a in Canada. Guess we'll all be riding horses again before long. Wonder how all that methane will affect the ozone?

Steve, I wondered the same thing on my car. I'm almost positive it's a relay but couldn't tell you what for. My Haynes manual doesn't really identify it either. I guess if I really knew how to read the wiring diagram I could figure it out. I was wondering if it could be part of my AC problems but ev...

Thanks Steve - good to know that my car behaves similar to most others out there of the same general year and mileage. Thanks for the tip on the shift lock also. Like I say I have had to use it continually since I've had the car. I have the replacement part to fix the shift-lock problem but just hav...

Bill, it sounds like you are very knowledgeable with the electronics of the AC system - much more so than me. Nonetheless I had a similar problem with my 93 850 GLT and chased codes till I was blue in the face - very similar to the ones you've pulled - and they did me almost no good at all. Sounds l...

S70 Guy - hopefully you have resolved your AC problem by now but if not let me just tell you I had the same blinking lights with my 93 850GLT and I pulled code after code after code and chased all over trying to resolve the "problems" they indicated. Turns out only one of the codes was eve...

You are more than welcome - although I'm no expert - if I was I would have figured the problem out much more quickly! If you decide to replace the resistor I highly recommend FCP Groton - I have purchased many parts from them and received outstanding service each and every time - plus their prices a...

Thanks very much everyone - it helps to know that my numbers are in line with the typical 90's 850. I have one more question and it's probably kind of stupid - what is the "shift lock" function? I assume it keeps the transmission from upshifting when engaged? I have the little shiftlock bu...

I too had oil all over the top/front of my "valve cover" and thought I would have to replace the "valve cover gasket." Then I learned how hard it was to get the "cover" off and realized it was probably just the seal on my oil filler cap. I replaced the seal, cleaned the...

I just replaced both of the engine mounts mentioned on my 93 850 GLT. It made a WORLD of difference reducing vibration in the cabin markedly. In order to see the lower mount however you might have to pull back the front section of the splash guard behind the passenger side front wheel. My engine mou...
