Re: B+ terminal repair - main fuse box

If I recall well you should have two wires. One to the starter and the other to the fuse box. In my case the wire was too short after I removed a bad terminal and I had to improvise with smaller gauge.

Re: The common ABS/Anti-Skid/ Brake Assist service light

I would have the codes read to determine the wheel that cause the problem. Then you can look at the sensor for dirt, wire chafing, connector condition & continuity. At the same time inspect carefully the front tone rings for a split. They are located at the ends of the drive axles. Here is a gen...

Re: 2005 v70r NA stalled and won't retart, fuel pump?

"So role of CEM is ruled out of the Blue wire is successfully supplying battery voltage and the Black wire has a good connection to Ground, and I guess if the voltage differential between the two does not sag when the current/fuel demand increases (a bad connection with high resistance might no...

Re: 2005 v70r NA stalled and won't retart, fuel pump?

My understanding of the fuel system for a V70R 2005 is that the CEM provides "power" to the PEM (4/83). See the diagram I posted earlier. Battery voltage is applied by the blue (BL) wire to the pin 2 of the PEM. Ground is applied on pin 3 permanently by the black wire (SB). When the CEM se...

Re: 2004 V70 2.4 Starts and Runs for a few minutes then Dies

Now with all the new parts, it is giving me a code for fuel pressure regulator performance and I think this car does not have a regulator like that because it is returnless setup. Have you looked at the PEM? https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=73706&p=390357#p390357...

Re: 2005 v70r NA stalled and won't retart, fuel pump?

For 2005 if it is a turbo engine as per diagram there is no fuel pump relay. The car is equipped with a fuel pump control module that regulates the speed of the pump. 4/83 on the diagram. These modules are notorious to become intermittent at this age. As abscate mentioned look at the fuel pressure a...

Re: 01' S60 non turbo Fuel relay location

Hi, looking for the fuel pump relay location for the 01'. I was able to find several other years s60 03 and 04. The under dash fuse panel on mine looks different than those. I found the following diagrams on the Web. My understanding is that your model/year isn't equipped with the fuel pump control...

Re: oil relief valve info? 02 S60 2.4T

What effect do you think it would have to replace 29 with a closed plug? The engine was engineered with this valve. Since you have a new one in your hands, personally I would replace it. My understanding is that it helps raise oil pressure at start up by bleeding air out of the filter housing cavit...

Re: oil relief valve info? 02 S60 2.4T

Apparently the little valve (29) is there to bleed air off the filter housing ( ie: after an oil change ). The bypass valve in case of filter blockage that you mentioned is at the bottom of the filter cup (32). The oil pipe that goes across the pan is often reported with broken seals (29a). It is kn...
