Not that I remember, no, but I had some parts removed from that side of the engine already which may have made it a little easier. Pretty straightforward though.

I had to do the same thing on mine after the hard plastic part of the hose snapped.

Not sure about fuel pressure, but I had a similar problem and ended up discovering I reinstalled the coil packs and wires in the wrong order (after a timing belt job). Fixing that along with new coil packs, wires, spark plugs, and eventually the wiring harness that connects all of that to the firewa...

I thought PNP too but it's just a guess. Mine caused similar issues except that it would go into limp mode when it was flaring up. The transmission would put out P0700 and/or P0705 codes as well. "rowing" never worked for me, but I found an article somewhere about how to adjust the PNP switch. It on...

I'm just saying I'm not sure because I'm not an expert whether oil leaks in those locations could also cause oil burn/blue smoke.
