Re: Service Manuals

OK, I'll drop the price to $10, buyer pays the shipping cost. Media mail shipping is less than $5 for these. I really want someone that can use them to buy these. I'll only charge the ACTUAL shipping rate, and it will be disclosed.

Service Manuals

I have two service manuals for sale. The first is a Bentley Manual for Volvo 240 1983 - 1993. It is in good condition, but the spine does need some glue. The second is a Haynes for 240 series 1976 - 1993. It is in very good condition. I would let both go for $20 plus actual shipping cost (probably l...

Re: 1990 240 Idle and Performance problem

First of all, thank you for the reply broke wagon. I more-or-less ruled out the air box thermostat because I don't have the hose that runs from it to the exhaust manifold. Living in Florida, I don't think I really need it right away. Here is what I did this morning. Pulled throttle body and c...

1990 240 Idle and Performance problem

Started driving my old Volvo while getting my truck repaired. It was running fine, but I decided that it was time to do a bit of work on it since I don't know the maintenance history on it. The first thing I did was snug up the belts since they were squealing a little bit. I then drove down to the a...

Re: 1990 240 DL Vibration

Well, I solved about 99% of the vibration issue, and I'm pretty pleased. Thanks to you guys for giving your input. I finally had time to work on the car today. I figured that I would start with something simple such as removing the front wheels, do an inspection and while I'm at it, replace the bear...

Re: 1990 240 DL Vibration

With the mileage and age, I would be suspicious of U-joints, except that you said it was a "bumpy" vibration...U-joints and carrier bearings set up a sort of resonance, a hum like vibration that varies in pitch with speed...So do wheel bearings... I think you should be looking into tire b...

1990 240 DL Vibration

I mentioned this in my "hello post" regarding a project car that I just purchased. It's a 1990 240 DL with over 260,000 miles on it. I figured that I might as well post one of the relevant problems with it here to attempt to accomplish a couple of things. 1st, hopefully others more knowled...

Re: New Love

I had a chance to look closer at a few things yesterday. The fuse was bad for the wipers, so I got them working. The vibration is kind of a mystery to me. It seems most apparent between about 35 mph and 45 mph. It kind of "smooths out" a bit above and below those speeds. I'm not sure if it...
