Re: Rear ABS speed sensor Removal Volvo 850R - Sensor seized

Another Note: The Yellow Connector on the new sensor is a PITA to pull through behind the fuel tank and up to the hole where the fuel lines go. Here's how I dealt with it: I removed it and taped the bare spade connectors to the old sensor wires to snake it through. - Cut the old sensors off their wi...

Re: Rear ABS speed sensor Removal Volvo 850R - Sensor seized

Mark this one as resolved for any future unfortunate soul trying to sort out their ABS woes who have tried the ABS module re-solder to no avail. 1) I must be one of the 1% (those who's ABS problems are not due to the ABS module solder problem), because my ABS/tracs light was due to both of my rear A...

Re: Rear ABS speed sensor Removal Volvo 850R - Sensor seized

Giving liquid wrench a go as we speak. I know I can check resistance at the large connector to the ABS module for proper operation of the rears (which is why I'm troubleshooting/cleaning/possible replacing) My Resistance readings on the rear were: Lrear: In the Mega Ohms RRear: Open (no reading) But...

1996 850R Rear ABS speed sensor 9162612 Removal Volvo 850R - Sensor seized

I'm in the middle of (1st) cleaning, then probably replacing the rear ABS sensors on my 850R. I've searched and searched, and can't find the info I need. I have spent the last hour trying to pull the rear ABS sensors out of the "hub" (for lack of a better name), and I can't get either of them to bud...

Re: Car failed emissions for high NOX: Suspect Spark Plugs?

Sorry for the bump - but I hate when I spend 10 minutes reading a thread and then get to the end and the OP hasn't posted a resolution of any kind: In this case, I can't give a definitive answer as to the source of my NOX woes, but I'm betting jimmy57 is right. The problem is, it's now irrelevant be...

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair. Topic is solved

Arguably true, unless you happen to be an audio technician (like me) and understand electronics enough, have the soldering skills, and live in Canada (which would drive up the shipping costs). Unless my labour is worth $60-100/hr, I think my own labour is worth it for a job like this. abscate, your ...

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair. Topic is solved

I'm going to give my two cents here. The ABS module out of my 850 is on the bench as I write. Matty Moo (and others who've done this repair a million times), I'd like to hear your opinion on this opinion: The proper way to test a joint is from before the joint in question to the next component using...

April 2013
-Tires and alignment (Eagle F1 all seasons)
-Broke lower shock stud attempting installation of IPD rear overload springs. Stud re-tapped. Will need to replace trailing arm at some point.
-Replaced wiper linkage/motor from pick-a-part.

Re: 1996 855R WOT lacking power

Alright... I'm going to mark this problem as solved!! WHOHOO! I've been putting off adjusting the wastegate actuator for over a year now (didn't want to pay $65 for the "tool" from IPD). Recently bought a manometer from Canadian Tire to sort out some other vacuum issues. http://www.canadiantire.ca/A...
