Re: Transmission Clunk 98 S70 T5

Did it choke out like it was in too high a gear, or just shut off? Those transmission problems eventually traced back to a bad solenoid later down the road in my car, but the Mobil-1 fluid seemed to help for well over a year and 40K miles or something after that. I seriously just typed a well thoug...

Re: Transmission Clunk 98 S70 T5

Hate to resurrect this one from the dead, but I am having IDENTICAL issues, right down to the fact that it stalled out of no where before this started happening... was/is that related or just a coincidental redherring? I'll be doing ATF this weekend if I can. Thanks.

Need help in central WA USA

My 98 V70 is running ok but am having a few little issues with the front end. I'd love to have someone with the knowledge look at that area and help me identify problem areas/my shopping list. I'd like to rebuild everything that needs it, but not waste my money on the things that don't need it. I ca...

I wish I had something that could help... But very interested in what it ends up being... props for documenting the issue even if no one speaks up to assist! :D

Re: Random Stalls at speed 98V70

On the plus side, replacing my faulty fuel pump and removing the rear drive shaft jumped my avg mpg on the commute to work from ~25 to ~27! Not too shabby :-)

Re: Random Stalls at speed 98V70

I should have noted that I have checked codes. All I have are the PCV system one which has been on the dash for 3 months or so... Plan to do it, but havent got around to it. You don't suppose the PCV system could cause such dramatic symptoms do you? I will remove the MAF and see what happens over th...

Re: Random Stalls at speed 98V70

What should I be looking for as I drive with the MAF disconnected? Lower milage? No stalls? What should I be paying attention to? Thanks for the help!
