Re: XGauge for Scangauge 2
Correction, I'm not getting a tranny fluid temp reading. I'm getting a coolant temp reading that I misunderstood to be the tranny fluid. As I'm learning about it though, if there's a sensor there and the info is being sent to the ECU, the scangaugeII is programmable to access that info. They don't ...

Re: XGauge for Scangauge 2
jtp, On this scangauge webpage I need to know which one of these sets of initials my 95 turbo wagon corresponds to (maybe their communication protocols beyond the OBD-II protocol?): ISO, VPW, PWM, CANSF, KWP. Just went through this my scan tool and OBDwiz software. ISO 9141. Might read ISO 9141-2. S...

Re: 850 Transmission in Limp Mode
Try driving it with gear selector in 3rd and see what happens. It won't fix anything but you may be able to narrow the search.

Re: I bought a new car today!
Justin, I knew that too
Just wanted to let you know I appreciate how much you helped me with my project Volvo, took the extra step of finding me resources to try and deal with my tranny issue and many others I am sure feel the same way.
Check in and say Hi once in a while

Jason,
What are you going to do with all your free time now? No more TB changes or PCV changes or hundreds of other little things that need to be addressed

Re: ATF fluid temperature sensor
Thanks Jimmy. Of course you know I am destroyed. I think I will just live with it until the end
But I appreciate your feedback about VSS. No sense spending more money on something that is not going to help

Re: 850 odometer gear quality
I can't remember for sure but when I purchased mine they were identified by the number of teeth. Of course I had only ordered one(the small one) because I was led to believe this is the one that fails. As stated in previous thread I found out that is not always the case. Consequently I had to order ...

Re: 850 odometer gear quality
I am not sure about the quality of one over the other but one thing I will say is replace both gears together. I had occasion to change one that was stripped on mine. Thinking I would save money and only change one I put it all back together only to have the other gear strip in less than a mile :x ....

Re: ATF fluid temperature sensor
Thanks Chris. I should state that in the past year I have driven maybe a thousand miles. I only use the car as a grocery getter. Even though I have developed an affinity for the car putting a lot of money into it isn't a prudent option and since my arthritis has left me unable to do what I might hav...
