Re: 2007 S80 Occupancy Weight Sensor
Go it now. I unplugged the sensor, contacts looked brand new but I sprayed contact cleaner on them anyway. The hose from the whoopee cushion was pulled back a little from the sensor. I pushed it back on by about another 1/8 inch. It's a tight fit. After doing both of those, the "Passenger Air B...

Re: 2007 S80 Occupancy Weight Sensor
If you can get details on that resistor/diode circuit and connection to ows connector, give it a shot and see if message goes out - stating the obvious... Post here as well. Believe me I'd post back. I always do no matter what I fix. Just doesn't seem like many Volvo guys have dug into this. The pr...

Re: 2007 S80 Occupancy Weight Sensor
Aren't they just going to tell me to get it fixed at the dealer? They're certainly not going to help me bypass something in the airbag system.

2007 S80 Occupancy Weight Sensor
Searched, a few others have had this problem, though not a lot. "SRS Urgent Service Required" on the dash. Dealer says, "Occupancy Weight Sensor is shot, $2,8000 installed. Thank you for choosing Borton Volvo." So I read it's a more common problem in BMW and Benz's, though the se...

Re: 2002 V40 AC clutch access
Just in case someone is searching for this. Butt simple on a 2002 V40. Pull the RF wheel, pull the plastic out of the fender well and the compressor is right there. Your life will be a bit easier if you pull that 10mm bolt that holds the Freon line to the frame right in front of the AC Clutch. Then ...

2002 V40 AC clutch access
Forgive me, it's girlfriend's car so I can't just walk outside to look at it. Did some searching and she's got the typical Volvo AC clutch problem where it only runs for a few minutes before giving up on her. So I'm going to adjust the shims so she can get the clutch engaged again. Looks like the co...

Re: 02 V40 steering angle
Could the steering geometry have been knocked out of alignment at some point? i.e. wheel hit a kerb or a pothole in road seal. Not sure what's happened. But when I turn the wheel so that it's level, both front wheels are obviously turned to the left. I think next time I see her, I'll put a piece of...

02 V40 steering angle
Girlfriend's car, so I can't go out to the garage and look at it. Last weekend I noticed the steering wheel is about 25 degrees to the right when going straight ahead. So either it's been aligned way off, or someone removed the steering wheel and put it back on without paying attention. I know on my...

Re: V40 Rear shock crash course
Nice Bill. Perfect. Something tells me I can do w/o disconnecting the sway bar if I just lift both back wheels so it can all hang? Or is that a "must"?
