It was the reservoir!
There is a random part that breaks off inside the reservoir (return line side) and causes bubbles.
This in turn causes cavitation in the pump which makes the sound.
$150 all in with travel and fluid and 1/2 hour
A-OK now...

It does come off pretty easily...worth a try.
What about air in the system?
Any chance the rack is shot?
If so How to tell?

537, Thnaks! I did not turn the wheel while refilling but, have turned it quite a few since....I drove it a fair distance as well as turned the wheel lock to lock in the drive many times. The fluid level has stayed the same... Do you think it may be as simple as a air lock? Should I try to crack it ...
