OK. Not sure what happened. Found the resistor after looking at a pic of one on the parts store website. Took it all apart...nothing on the circuit board looked burnt. Put it all back together to test for voltage along the circuit and...it all works fine again! Loose wire was all I could figure...oh ...

+1 On the control arms. Just had the same thing on my car. Replaced the lower control arms to find the ball joint in the right front was shot. Also put a new set of struts on it and replaced the worn out tires. It's like riding on glass now!
