Depending on the type of switch, if it has a metal contact and needs cleaned, I use CAIG DeOxit (D5). The stuff is legendary. I use it on guitar knobs, stereo knobs, switches, etc. But if you cannot get to the contacts, that won't help.
Trunk hinges? They look like something between 12 and 15mm.

I bought a VIDA/DICE tool off of a US buyer on ebay and it works okay. They aren't that expensive. I do wonder what is different though, because the shop was able to make my light switch mean off when it's "off", where before it was (off=on, park=park, on=on). I haven't found out how that ...

I replaced my fuel filter, plugs and air filter and it still runs badly. Another oddity is that my cruise control won't turn on unless I sit and run the RPMs at 3.5k for a while and the shut off and turn the car back on.
Considering xemodex and a MAF I guess.

Re: V70 '03 Engine Stalling
Is this a turbo? I think I saw your post on volvo-forums where one person replied to replace the ETM with XeModex. They have a nice diag flow chart: http://www.xemodex.com/technologyimproved/ETM%20Diagnostic%20Flow%20Chart.pdf That's a serious gremlin - many possibilities. When they replaced the fue...

I've read on other forums, that if you put a balloon on the dipstick tube, if the PCV system is blocked on a Turbo engine, it will inflate the balloon (and create vacuum on a non-turbo). I measured the pressure at the dipstick tube with a balloon and one of those mightyvac gauges and it had nothing ...

Re: 2004 V70 Compressor Issue Does bread clip fix work on 04
My AC would only work for a few to 15 minutes then I could feel the clutch relay clicking but the clutch wasn't engaging. I also did the shim removal on my 01 v70 without loosening the compressor. It was horrible with my chubby hands, but it worked. I drilled holes into a spare metal plate as a tool...

Does your cruise control still come on? If so, pcv sounds right. I've similar issues but no cruise, which happened before, when my accel pedal sensor didn't report a signal via the etm. Otherwise, my etm still checks out ok. I probably have a different issue.

Re: V70 with notchy steering
For others who find this thread later on, and have this issue: I had a similar issue, when my Volvo logo on the steering wheel was vertical. I msg'd schnellcgw, and CW says they used Wurth HHS-K (HHS-2000) on the joint and it freed up quite a bit. I couldn't get mine to improve with PBlaster or Deep...

Re: 2001 V70 tranny problems
A bit over 2 months and 2600 mi. So far it's been trouble-free. No leaks, bad side-effects, trouble codes or anything and the fluid stays nice and red. I just drive it without worrying now. Yes, I was able to reset adaptations with VIDA. My car doesn't have "adaptation mode", but it did le...

2001 V70 tranny problems
If you get a vida/dice, I meant. Oh, and vida soft installation is painful. Took me a few tries before it was happy and installed.
