Re: Yeah! Turned 300,000 on my 2000 S80 2.9 today!

Yes, my son is going to pay for the insurance! Well, I finally made the move for a replacement... a 1999 BMW 750il (E38). It has 150k, but is immaculate. A 12-cylinder beast that loves that premium fuel, but has just about every creature comfort you could want. This one will be my new project, and I...

Yeah! Turned 300,000 on my 2000 S80 2.9 today!

I made it, and she's still running strong! This has been the best car I have ever owned. I took a chance and bought it (very cheap - $3700) in 10/05 with 219K, as it was throwing codes with the Christmas tree lights. Before buying it, I had it checked out by the dealer. They told me it would be thou...

Maybe this is too obvious, but you did not mention in your long list that a front wheel alignment was done. On the off chance it was not done, I would definitely try that.

Re: front electric windows

Hi! It's likely those little plastic sliders that are the culprit. Here's a link to the buggers: http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exec/p ... ory_id/334 Not too tough of a repair either. Good luck!

Re: S80 T6 ABS Module Issues - Help?

The last time someone posted with continuing ABS messages after replacing the ABS with a rebuilt, I suggested checking the plug into the ABS module. That turned out to be the problem. Were I you, I would check for bent/corroded pins and a clean, tight electrical connection. I doubt the front end work...

Re: 1999 s80 non turbo

The first 2 codes you listed are for the ETM (electronic throttle module), low signal and internal fault, respectively. The last is for the accelerator pedal sensor (faulty signal). Sounds like you are in "limp home" mode. If your ETM does not have a yellow label, it's likely bad. Even if ...

Re: SRS Service urgent on & passenger seat belt does not loc

The advice you got earlier in the post was 100% accurate (and free). The SRS service light can only be cleared with specialized code reading equipment. Obviously, the dealer has the equipment and they will normally not be ashamed to charge you for the reset (and anything else they can get you for). ...

Re: air conditioner does not blow. 1999 2.9 non-turbo

My blower resistor ("power unit") just went out too. Were you able to find a reasonably priced one somewhere? Going price seems to be $90 (ebay) to $150 (Autozone) - way out of line for such a simple part. Can anyone recommend a good source for a used one? Thanks... 2000 S80 2.9 297K (gonn...

Re: Code Reader

I can't say what your shop is using, but I got a BSR PPC diagnostic unit to do those tasks. It reads and clears all the codes on all the modules of a 99-04 Volvo S80. It was about $200 new. Unfortunately, they are no longer made and I am not aware of any other solution (other than the VIDA reader us...
