Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?

I do have a new question. Anyone here running Piet's RPM+ mod? Some RPM tables were transformed to run on an *40 conversion (max 10200rpm), others stayed on *30 (max 7650rpm). However, the RPM limiters only go to 7650rpm. I'm wondering how that's supposed to work then. Do the RPM limiters still do a...

Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?

Does anyone know how *exactly* air mass is calculated inside the ECU based on the voltage from the MAF sensor? I've just had a datalog where momentarily the MAF value pegged to 8191.88 (aka the maximum of the 16 bit number it can be), which resulted in a load-request of >10ms at idle with a subsequ...

Re: Heater Core Firewall Junction/Coupler bypass - DIY write

I have heard of people running the hose directly from block to heater core without a junction at the firewall - though in my case, the spaces are rather tight due to an oversized air-intake duct. So for now I decided to keep the original - the heater hose I bought would kink if I tried to bend it th...

Heater Core Firewall Junction/Coupler bypass - DIY write-up

In this write-up (based on ycartf's tutorial over at volvoforums) I will show how I bypassed the heater core firewall-coupler with regular heater hose. This is also cheaper than buying a new coupler with o-rings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Conrods too wide - anybody know the correct dimensions?

So about a month ago, I was here with a question about my engine rebuild. Not long after that, I got stuck. Apparently, the H-beam conrods I ordered from Maxspeedingrods, are too wide for my block. I installed one piston, and tried to turn the crank, but after about 110 rotational degrees either way...

Volvo 850 Piston Oil Spray Jets - Torque of coverplate?

I'm rebuilding my Volvo 850 T5 engine (B5234T), but I don't know the correct torque for the coverplates of the piston oil spray jets. The Haynes manual I'm using doesn't even mention their existence - i dont think he ever took them off in his teardown. Does anyone know these figures? Preferably in Nm.
