Re: Misfire on cyls 1-4 but runs fine??

Another update...a few says after my last post, the flashing engine light came back. As usual the car still ran perfectly. So figured I'd try another set of spark plugs, though my last set of plugs were only put in at the end of January and were Volvo OEM plugs. Not sure how many km, but estimating ...

Re: Misfire on cyls 1-4 but runs fine??

Just to update, so far so good. No flashing engine light, and the readiness monitors are all good after the O2 sensor swap.

Re: Misfire on cyls 1-4 but runs fine??

Trans hasn't been removed ever that I'm aware of.
For OBD monitoring I'm using a Gopoint GL1 cable and my iPhone 4s.

Re: Misfire on cyls 1-4 but runs fine??

$180 later, and the front O2 sensor has been changed. As an experiment I reset the codes but didn't disconnect the battery to force a relearn. Within a half hour of driving the flashing engine light was back. So I've disconnected the battery for a day, and driving it for two days now and no codes ha...

Re: Misfire on cyls 1-4 but runs fine??

Thanks for the reply, though sometimes I'd rather pay for my health care. I'm currently waiting for a consult with a surgeon. And it's been over 2 months and I don't even have an appointment date yet!! I didn't even think that a faulty O2 could cause better mileage. I'm so use to everyone complainin...

Re: Misfire on cyls 1-4 but runs fine??

Thanks for the reply. Not sure how many miles on the O2. Could be original for all I know. Car had 150000km on it when I bought it a few years ago. 225000km on it now so I'm sure it's due for a change regardless. The car does still get decent mileage on every tank of gas though. Between 700-800km

Misfire on cyls 1-4 but runs fine??

I've been chasing a problem for a long while now. I posted about it in April 2012 originally. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=48350 Every time I think I've got it figured out it comes back. The car is a 2001 2.4 LPT automatic. What's happening: car runs great but und...

Re: New TCV, now misfire codes??

Just to update, Wednesday morning the car started running like a bag of crap, and I had to change coil #2. Ran good again after that, but was still getting random misfires. So Thursday night I decided to reinstall the stock TCV, and the stock Volvo spark plugs that I pulled out. Unfortunately there ...

New TCV, now misfire codes??

Hi everyone, I tried to search this, but had no luck. Quick history on the issue I'm having. Bought my S60 2.4T last August. Ran good, but never seemed like it had the power it should for a turbo car. 2 weeks ago installed a Autometer boost gauge, and only making 4 psi, so I order a new TCV last Thu...

Re: Right side thumping?

I've also finally figured out my "clunking". As I mentioned before, I was worried about it possibly being a CV shaft issue. Got thinking a little more, and thought maybe the CV bolt is loose. Did a little research, and it turns out loose CV bolt is a common problem. Walked out at midnight ...
