Re: I’m devastated - 02 V70 2.4T engine is toast
I doubt it’s more than that. The bottom end of these engines are indestructible. Go to a local LKQ and see what a long block will cost. ( don’t do this online, go in person. LKQ charges a fortune to list inventory so many ( most€?) don’t play their game. ) Ok abscate, tell me more. I’ve got a LKQ a...

Re: I’m devastated - 02 V70 2.4T engine is toast
Very interesting. What exactly happened here? Oil cooler broke and forced the oil pressure inside the water system causing the hose to blow up? But that doesn't explain how that small seal popped out. Sudden high pressure event - pretty sure the head blew and dumped combustion gases into the coolan...

I’m devastated - 02 V70 2.4T engine is toast
Well, it finally happened. 😢 I was driving home last week and about 3 miles from home all of a sudden every light on my DIM lit up and my car lost power….and steam was coming out from under my hood. I was able to get to the side of the road, pop the hood, and saw the cam seal blown along with the up...

Re: P2 Multiple RPM signals, one pegs at 6,000 RPM
So I figured I would update this thread. The problem subsided in the colder months….and never came back! I was certain that I would see a recurrence this summer with the temps in the 90’s and hitting triple digits a couple times, combined with an abnormally high amount of driving, but I never had th...

Closing this thread out, as I started a more specific thread here:

P2 Multiple RPM signals, one pegs at 6,000 RPM
This is a puzzlement. I had previously posted here: Sadness - 2002 V70 2.4T - Transmission Service Required - is it time to say goodbye? I was driving along the interstate going ~65 MPH, roughly 2,300 RPM, and all of a sudden the “Transmission Service Required” message pops up on the DIM. Drove home...

Re: Driver Information Module (Instrument Cluster) repair options?
Well, I’ve made it 5.5 years and 57,510 miles since making this repair, with no issues for the DIM. I’m about to send XeMODeX my ECM for a DTC-711A - “Engine Control Module Internal Fault”. We THINK that fault (which has been there for as long as I can remember) has gotten worse with heat and is sen...
