Re: 2007 XC90 3.2… cem not communicating with rem?

Abscate, the shop said that they had pulled and checked the plugs. I had ordered a new coil for the #5 that was missing at the time I took it in but they claimed they checked those also. However I don’t know what they did with the new coil. I have ordered new cam solenoids but I don’t know if that w...

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2… cem not communicating with rem?

I took it to a guy who knows imports pretty well and all he said was it has variable valve timing and that an oil change might help. I got this car a year ago for 500.00.130,000 miles .Put new tires on it and went from Virginia to Illinois and back without a minutes trouble. Only codes have to do wi...

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2… cem not communicating with rem?

Paul and ChitownV ,
I am not dissing anybody’s info. All is very much appreciated and I do my best to learn as much as I can. I am not a young person and sometimes it takes a little time for me to wrap my brain around a new concept which this vvt vs vvl is.
Thanks, Ruth

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2… cem not communicating with rem?

Thanks, you must have missed the previous post where I found, for God knows why , the fuse for the rem was missing. Replaced and all is well so far. I did have a water issue on the passenger side from the cowl draining in instead of out . Fixed a year ago. Now my only issue seems to be with the cam ...

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2… cem not communicating with rem?

Update….. I figured out the problem with the cem and rem communication. The fuse for the rem was missing. Do not ask me how cuz I don’t have a clue! It’s not like it could just fall out! I believe I mentioned it had been at a local shop. Anyway, thank the Lord that it is now fixed. So back to the so...

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2… cem not communicating with rem?

Thanks for the info Paul but what does that have to do with the rem not communicating with the cem. Codes are CEM-1A5A and CEM-1A64
I’m sure you’re right about the solenoid but I’m really confused about the lack of communication between these modules that just started out of the blue.
Thanks, Ruth
