Should my s40 have an engine undercover/ gravel tray/ skid plate?? I noticed this as areas of the engine bay are exposed to the elements. I remember my previous car(golf gti) had one of these plastic trays and thot strange When the Volvo being a newer car dosent. Can't seem to source a part anywhere...

You are right that it had no implication on any other electrics as i thought it may have been related turns out the timing was just coinsidence. Also the car was was washed externaly.
