Re: Maf sensor wiring diagram
A "really good mechanic" tells me he has several time run into MAF problems where the reference voltage from the ECU is 12 volts instead of 4.98 V (say 5). Hopefully resetting the ECU will do it. I'm having a well-running (below 40 mph) 740T bucking and (apparently) shutting down the injec...

Re: 1985 240 Stumbling on acceleration
My 740 runs fine until I depress the throttle at cruise, then stumbles. Haven't checked id the ECU is turning the ejectors off (as it does at max MAF signal) but the air/fuel meter (added) DOES NOT deflect lean. Very little written on this. Have done a lot to check everything else...have not checked...

Re: 240/740turbo engine swap??
Ugh! I have a 760 T, a 740T and 3 various condition 240's. I used to tell former friends that the Volvo 123 was the best car ever made, then the 240, now I think it's the (+'89) 740T. They now drive Acura's, BMW's... Get a 740+ RWD.. Or, get a 240 turbo setup (turbocharger, manifolds, exhaust) and g...

Re: 740 wet carpets were is the water coming from?
Same problem. In my case water was leaking past shield over HVAC fan inlet. Could not figure out how the water got from passenger front to Driver rear. Answer: thru hot air duct under carpet. Sealed shield with silicone--no more leaks. (except that **&$* sunroof. Pollen plugs the drain tubes.

Re: 1992 740 DTC Code 1-2-3
Opps. We go astray. The engine temperature sensor, located to the left of the ECT, is under intake runner 2. One of my B230 blocks has two pins and one has one pin. One of the manuals says one pin is for the gauge cluster, the other something else. I looking for a wiring diagram for the two pin vers...

Re: 1992 740 DTC Code 1-2-3
turned out to be the incompatible ECT sensor. The swaped motor sensor was blackened, so it looked exactly the same as the LH2.4 black sensors. Thanks, all! *********************** The 92 engine had one pin in the Engine Temperature sensor, the 86 had two pins in the connector. Any ideas? Nothing in ...

1992 740 DTC Code 1-2-3
Just swapped for a later (940) B-230 Turbo, using original ECU, MAF, O2, etc. Engine refuses to get out of Limp Home Mode. DTC code 1-2-3 which one source says is ECT, engine coolant temperature. A post on another site said that he could'nt clear the code, even tho the car was running fine. Can a EC...

Re: Newbie here - 740- Vacuum Leak? Please Help
You didn't mention whether your vehicle was turbocharged or not, but I recently noticed a noise on accelerationin my '92 740T. Oddly enough, at the same time, the boost gauge stopped working. I'm now struggling with those poorly designed catches that hold the dash gauge panel in place to get to the ...
