I switched the HL switch with a known working one..."Success!" It's the switch! Problem solved!
Thanks!

1998 S90 Both low beam headlights out
Hello
All of a sudden, I have no low beam headlights.
The high beams work great (but for some reason, the high beam lever won't stay in the high beam position)
Does that normally happen if a relay fails?
Ideas?
Thanks

1998 S90 Electrical question
For some strange reason, after starting my car, the headlights, dashlights, blower, etc. rhythmically dim slightly every 3 seconds. I'm not sure if it continues while I'm driving....(I don't notice it anyway...) Any ideas? Its been a very cold winter and the battery has performed very well...So I do...

Re: 98 S90 good ole PNP issues
I don't know for sure....because the bushings and the PNP switch were replaced at the same time, so maybe one or the other (or both) solved the problem....

Re: 98 S90 good ole PNP issues
I had the same troubles....I had the PNP switch replaced. The mechanic, who specializes in Volvos, said that the PNP switch itself was not likely the problem (but since he was there, easy enough to replace). My shifter was really loose and sloppy...He said the bushings on the shifter linkage were co...

1998 S90 Oil leak
I replaced an ignition coil (#5) last week. I noticed an oil leak coming from the area where the coils are and specifically area of #5 and back to the rear of the engine a few days later... I could not find a source of the leak (nothing around the oil filler cap) Then I noticed I'd forgotten to put ...

1998 S90 Driver's power seat stuck
A (short) friend of mine drove my S90 and had to move the seat up to reach the pedals. Now the seat won't go back on the right side rail. I've heard that this is common and has to do with a cable from one of the motors...

Re: 1998 S90 EVAP purge valve
...Just a thought!
If it is a somewhat yucky canister, perhaps a small inline fuel filter between the canister and the purge valve could clean the vapor a bit?!

1998 S90 EVAP purge valve
My EVAP purge valve was replaced with a Dorman brand valve about 6 months ago. It is failing and staying "open" (I can blow through it). The gas tank is under negative pressure and I have to relieve it by opening gas cap. I've had some luck spraying the valve with MAF sensor cleaner (or ca...
