Re: Sunroof down

My key fob has not worked ever since I bought the car. I just use a key to gain access to the car.
Also my alarm system does not work. Flasher goes off at times when I unlock a door from the passenger side after the car is locked with the key.

Sunroof down

Just wondered what might be the cause of my sunroof no longer functioning other than the plastic strips that suddenly came down one day while driving. Some sort of protective strips I think.
I checked the fuse and it is fine. When I depress the power switch in any direction, there is no movement.

Hi guys.
Just ordered one of those ATF flush kits from IPD and in their instruction sheet it states the capacity for my '02 V70 is approx. 10 quarts. Then I just saw somewhere else that I should have 12-14 quarts on hand. Which is it? How many quart jugs do I need?

Wouldn't pass State Inspection

Hi Guys, Just got the phone call I was afraid of but never heard of a shop not passing a car for bad motor mounts and a tranny mount. So when I disconnect the lower hose from the transmission, is this what they name as "pumping" out the fluid vs. a "drain 'n fill"?

Re: Rear bulbs (LED) ?

OK Mr. Pennsylvania, the honeymoon's over. Do a search on LED bulbs.
Really? I thought that folks on this forum like to interact with other Volvo owners. I am sorry.
I won't post for a month.

Rear bulbs (LED) ?

Just went over to the auto parts store to pick up a couple of #1156 brake light bulbs and noticed they had some LED style bulbs for the same P/N. Very expensive but i am curious if anyone has tried these in their older Volvo's without any error messages or lighting up the dash. They draw more curren...

ATF filter?

Does anyone know if my 2002 V70 has a automatic transmission filter? I believe it is the Aisin-Warner but not sure of the exact part number.

Normal Maintenance Schedule?

OK, not so sure I like the move I made from my '98 S70 to this '02 V70. More electronic thing's to go wrong. Anyway here is my question of the day; In the lower left corner of the dashboard there seems to be a living electronic billboard right in my car. After filling the gas tank for the 1st time, ...

Re: Next up/ Gas cap door

The car is a 2002 v70. OK, I did not realize that is is not a "pop-release" type fuel door like on my old '98 s70.
So you guys are saying that even after I come to a full stop and if I do not push the button on the dash, it will still be locked?

Next up/ Gas cap door

Sorry guys/gals but since purchasing my new/used car, there apparently a few more issues I still need to correct to gt things back to normal. I went to fill-up my first new tank of gas after work and it seems that the latching device that holds the gas door closed no longer works. I figured out fina...

Georgeandkira, you could be my new best friend, although i am not sure I personally could handle all that removal and re-installation of a fender liner. No, I am not sure it is the "J" hose. Trying to remove that P0442 code.

Location of the charcoal cannister (2002 V70)?

I have searched the net pretty well but still can't seem to find the exact location of the "charcoal canister" that works in conjunction with the fuel evap. stuff. Just wanted to replace that "J" hose.

Yeah, I drove it home the other day over 100 highway miles @ 65 mph. It only conked/stalled out when I was in a parking

erikv11 & Georgeandkira;
Is it alright to drive the car with that P0012 code engaged? In other words, can I drive it to work tomorrow say 10 miles
or will ir damage the engine severely? Just want to be sure.

Re: Pulled 2 CEL codes (Help please)

Thank you "erikv11" for your two responses. On your "P0012" comment, if the cam timing is off a tooth as you stated, is that going to be a dealer fix? I try to avoid the dealer unless absolutely necessary. I did see a video for replacing what the guy called a "cam timing sensor" which in the video w...

Georgeandkira; Thanx for your response. Yes, the shifting itself has be alright so far. No anomalies. That "small screen filter" you spoke of underneath the cam adjuster. Re: Dealer Maintenance Records?

Just found out the dealer who serviced this car and I called them up just now. They told me that the owner of the car (not me yet) would have to call them to release the maintenance records. I guess I have to hope now that when I meet the owner tomorrow a.m., he has some records for me to view in pe...
