Room temperature oil is different than hot oil and blow by vapors. Three feet of the Parker 836-10 push-lok hose can be had for $12 shipped on ebay. It's about twice as much as heater hose, but much safer. Still lots cheaper than the factory hose.

Just did this fix and it works great. I used blue Parker push-lok 836-10 hose. Looks great and is tolerant to oil and gas vapor. A low quality seal is better than a leaking seal. Worst case is that you'll need to do it again in a few years.

Finally changed mine. The front seal was fine, but the rear seal had actually popped all the way out and was resting against the sensor rotor!

I pushed the seals in too far, which I'm hoping is ok. Got me thinking though. These seals are 7 mm deep. VW uses 10mm deep seals. I think this would make ...

Here's the safest way to pull the seal. I was lucky enough to snag one used on ebay for cheap a few years back.

Also, I'd like to mention that it's a good idea to wipe the ID of the seal with oil before installing it.

Got the message. Pep boys has the SKF seals for a bit under $10. I saw them on ebay for less, but who knows if they are copies. I found a nice blue 5/8 fuel line hose. Should dress it up a bit!

And I am going OEM on the rest.
