Have had the same issue with my S70 for a while. Unless you are willing to replace every single bulb, my local Volvo mechanic says you should get used to it. I try not to use any except Volvo bulbs because they are made to a higher spec.

engine ticking
Think you need to have your oil checked. Ticking noise can come from LACK of oil in the top of the enginer; especially iIf your oil light comes on during a cornering turn (moderate speed).
