I have also noticed that TCM reload software and upgrades on volvopartswebstore.com have the same part number for 2004 and 2002 XC70. So, would it be possible that 2004 software loaded into 02 XC TCM communicate with AW55-51 tranny swapped into 02 XC70? The AW55-51 tranny is more reliable and cost $...

I have 2002 XC70 with bad transmission. I changed oil. It was dark with shiny metal flakes seen on sunlight. The transmission shifts in manual mode between 2 and 4th gears. I saw that 2003 and later transmission are less expensive and plentiful than 01-02 models. They will physically fit in my 02 XC...
