Re: Hard start at operating temp.
Thanks. Won't the pump preload the fuel system? I'll check it anyway. Stranger things can happened.

My 780 Bertone, v6, is causing me some greif. I finally got it running pretty good, O2 sensor was the main problem but the cat was clogged. good thing they are ceramic. Flushed it out and let it dry by slow moving compressed air. Cat flows wonderfully now. Now for the main issue. when I start it in ...

Re: 89' 780 bertone
I'm sorry if I didn't thank him. Slipped my mind I guess. It's not like it's the end of the world if someone forgets to say thanks. Thank you Bill for the help. It wasn't anything I'd had already learned before at many other forums but you did put forth effort and I applaud you for that. To the guy ...

Re: 89' 780 bertone
Well now that I got everything back together I took it for a spin. I am pleased to say it was the in tank fuel pump and the FPR. (it was leaking) I'm done with this car and now I'm selling it. I do want another volvo, just not one that is so special. I also want it to be a 4 door.

Re: 89' 780 bertone
Got the FPR. Installed and it's a no-go. Starts right up but after the warm up it starts it flutter. Maybe the in tank pump is not working causing the main pump to starve itself after so long.

No whirring sound... Typical for me. anyway I should be getting the fpr today. Then I'll go get the fuel pump after that.

Re: 89' 780 bertone

I'll pull the fuel line off the high pressure pump tomorrow and see if I get fluid. replaced fuel filter fir cleaned mass air needs fuel pressure reg since this one just started leaking. Not sure ...

Re: 89' 780 bertone
Sorry. I haven't burned it yet. As far as long hours I've been working 70 hours a week so I know the feeling.
I do need help badly. I've asked this on several forums with nothing more than 25 reasons for it happening. I'd like to narrow it down a bit. Got any clues?
