FS: Volvo Factory Service Manuals

I ended up with several bins worth of Volvo books and parts when a local Volvo enthusiast passed away several years ago. I've decided it's now time to get what I can't use out of my garage. Right now I'm starting with books... I have 86 of the Volvo green factory service manuals. These are not compl...

FS: 850 timing belt parts and water pump

My 1996 850 is gone and I thought I had sent it off to the new owner with all the parts I had for it, but apparently not. Going through my parts storage for my 1800ES, I discovered an idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and water pump that were in storage as I would have had a timing belt change coming ...

FS: V70 load bars, trunk storage tray, and cargo cover

My parents' 2003 V70 got rear-ended by some idiot who wasn't paying attention and was totaled by the insurance company. They grabbed a few parts before the car was hauled away and ended up getting an earlier V70, so couldn't use any of this. Trying to clear this stuff out for them. I'm not a V70 exp...

Re: Volvo Parts Garage Sale - Wall, NJ

We went there a few weeks ago to grab some 1800 stuff. The parts collection that you will find is the result of the lifetime love of Volvos by one man, known very well to the 1800 community. Sadly, he lost a battle with cancer a few years ago and his wife has been slowly clearing out the Volvo cars ...

Re: 850 Transmission in Limp Mode

Picked the car up this afternoon. I'm not happy about having to spend all this money on the car, but I am very happy with the service from European Plus in Pennington. They quoted me a price before they started. They not only came in under that price, but they also changed out the rear main seal whi...

Re: 302mm Brake Upgrade

I would also tend to lean toward believing IPD. That FCP big brake kit was on the 850 I bought a couple months ago. Despite FCP's site saying that the kit works with 16" wheels, the 16" Persus wheels that I wanted to put back on the car did NOT fit with the big brakes on. Had to swap out t...

Re: What's the best headlight for 850?

I haven't really noticed any difference and I know a few other local Volvo owners who have been happy with stuff they've purchased from him (mainly for 240's). The site's owner is a Volvo lover/mechanic. My boyfriend bought an old 1800ES from him a few years ago. Nice guy. I have no affiliation with...

Re: What's the best headlight for 850?

I bought a new, complete passenger headlight assembly from the site below for $69.99. It is identical to the damaged one that was in the car. Shipping was quick.

Re: 850 Transmission in Limp Mode

Just to add a bit more to what Ian posted, they said they could have replaced the solenoids but I probably still would have had the same problem and have wasted even more money. And having already wasted the money on the new PNP switch as well as flushing the fluid, I have to agree. Forgetting about...

Re: hooowee, we got a deal, a steal... if you like fixing ca

Welcome and congrats on the "new" car. I feel your pain. Bought myself an 850 wagon that's beautiful inside and out. Haven't driven it even 300 miles since I bought it two months ago, thanks to transmission problems. I'm breaking down and taking it in to a shop next week, after the fixes w...
