Re: 97 850 R Hood fitment
Is it possible the used radiator header I installed was warped inward, not allowing headlamps to stick out far enough?? Oh and, bump.

Just did the valve stem seals. Sprayed cam cover with aircraft paint remover then pressure washed...stripped off my cam position marks as well...duh!

Re: 97 850 R Hood fitment
I can adjust up and down, left and right, but not forward and backward, as the fender dictates that.
To me it looks like the "nose" of the hood is too far forward.

97 850 R Hood fitment
IMAG0221.jpg IMAG0221.jpg Hello all 850 R owners, finally getting around to replacing the hood on my brick. The old one had taken it on the chin from a minor run in with a pick up. It is my understanding that all 850 bodies are the same, from 93-97. However, I don't recall this much space between t...

Re: 1997 850R Compression test results
Hey all, turns out it was the oil. Too low a viscosity for the old girl...

Re: 1997 850R Compression test results
Update
Oil changed to Castrol GTX 10-40 with a quart of 15-40, smoke is very minimal now, i.e. driveable.
Headed out to find a coolant compression tester next.
Thanks for all who weighed in, with your advice and ideas.
Just think if government worked this well...
Will update after test.
Matt
