It has 206435 miles, I've had it 3 years, when I bought it had 179000+.
Since I've had it its been maintained fairly well, but before I have no idea.

Re: catalytic converter
I'm not necessarily trying to gain power, here lately my car has been smoking if I go in a store and leave it running.
When it sits idling, and I go to back up, it shoots out a puff of white smoke.
I was just wondering if my converter might be clogged.

Dash light malfunctions
95 850 GLT, just recently my dash light stops working behind my clock and on the right half of my speedometer.
Is this a bulb, fuse, or a loose wire issue?

catalytic converter
I live in a county that doesn't do any type of emissions, I am wondering if the things I hear about removing the catalytic converter and gaining power are true.
If so, how significant would it be and would if negatively affect my performance.
I have a 95 850 GLT with 206k, completely stock.

Re: rattling noise when accelerating up hill
I just want to say thanks, the 93 octane did the trick!
I will bite the bullet and only run it from now on.

Re: rattling noise when accelerating up hill
As I drive the car the sound seems to be triggered by the rpms. When I'm going up a steep slope the sound will begin, "rattling" as I hear it, I can limit how long the noise lasts by adjusting the pressure I apply to the accelerator, less pressure or more pressure and it goes away dependin...

Re: rattling noise when accelerating up hill
Hmmm, I never thought about the injectors, a few friends have heard it and they said it sounded like valves. When I cleaned the PCV system I broke one of the fuel lines, I replaced it with a similar fuel grade hose. Were the factory part had a natural curve, after about four months, mine developed a...

Re: rattling noise when accelerating up hill
Well the timing is good, I'm not sure about the can of marbles, I will have to grab some of my sons marbles and compare the sounds.
The only lights that are lit on my dash are service and abs. How would I determine it it is the sensor, or would the check engine light not being on rule it out?
