Re: DIY: REAR Trailing Arm Bushing (31277893) Replacement (2005 XC90 2.5T AWD with 120K)
Believe it's 65Nm (48 ft-lb) plus 105 degrees, shown as Link arm front in subframe-front mounting (M12) in VIDA. I've done three sets of these beginning in 2016. When I did my first job there was only a Russian post available, had to translate. I like cn90's approach, the sleeve kit just gives me a ...

Re: Where exactly is the catalytic converter
Per VIDA for the B6324 (6 cylinder) engine: "There are four catalytic converters, two for bank 1 and two for 2. Bank 1= cylinder 1, 2, and 3. Bank 2= cylinder 4, 5, and 6. The two [bank related] heated oxygen sensors are used to control the catalytic converter; one heated oxygen sensor in front of t...

Re: IPD sway bar end links
Opinion only, I've removed 2 full sets of IPD end links from my vehicles and gone back to OE. They look great but do not perform as well over time as the Volvo part.

Re: R-type struts?
^ yes. As you'll soon see, it'll take quite a bit to compress down to where the seat has no tension. I went from a 5 cylinder to two V8s, have done more than a few 33 springs with these. You can use them no problem with just the washer they come with (lower part in photo), I chose to go the thrust b...

Re: R-type struts?
I've seen this version of compressor but never tried it. I took a pair of inexpensive compressors and added a couple washers plus a thrust bearing (top item in photo) then I lube the threads before use: IMG_2383.JPG ChitownV- I cannot recall, do you have nivomats on your vehicle? If yes, what code? ...

Re: R-type struts?
The 33 front spring is pretty stout and you'll need to compress it down pretty far to install the new seat fully. Use a good compressor and be careful. Seat will want to flex when it goes back on and the spring gets uncompressed, I tighten the cross nut up and release the compressor then get the str...

Re: Inner Tie Rod Replacement
For the bellows clamp, pretty sure it's a 56mmx7mm. Guy named Howard who has a Volvo site was selling them for a few years but is no longer. You can see them here- https://www.mk1autohaus.com/56mm-Steple ... _6605.html
Torque for tie rod inner nut is noted as 80Nm in VIDA.

Re: R-type struts?
I'll be surprised if you can find a “quick strut” for the 33/AE combination, it’s not very common. R-Design suspension is a little more firm by intent. I have the same suspension code in a 2008 V8 Sport, the precursor to the R-Design. Springs are more heavy (33 vs 31), front/rear sway bars are sligh...
