No, I haven't tried that, but I was thinking about it today. In fact, I was going to jack the car up and look to see if there was a way I could get some gear oil or grease into the bearing, but it was raining so hard I decided against it for the time being.

thanks, I am going to remove everything and recheck the oil return port in the block. Also read about replacing the vacuum line to the intake manifold with a 5/8-inch heater hose. Thinking about doing that.
