Re: radiator fan always on full speed

I had this problem like 4 months ago aswell, the coolant temperature sensor fixed it back then. It came back like a week ago, I changed the sensor again, but now it didn't fix it. What could be the cause? I had the same problem after replacing the thermostat/sensor assy. with non-OEM parts. Ended u...

Re: Lesson learned (Ignition Coil Purchase)

I had the iPD HD coils but the tops cracked. Top of my engine is quite hot and may have been the cause. I reverted to the original Bosch ones. I note the iPD HD ones are no longer available. I have just picked up a replacement Bosch set but have yet to install them. While shopping for a new set of ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Next adventure is the coil wiring harness. NOT looking forward to that! I've got a new handmade harness w/ VVT from guy in Russia, it cost me under $100 shipped about 3-4 years ago. These days it's not an option, but Dave makes harnesses as well: https://www.prancingmoose.com/volvoharnesses-960.htm...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

I would strongly discourage the use of aftermarket parts in these cars, particularly but not limited to electronic components. For some reason, the generic nature of these parts is incompatible with P2 and perhaps other Volvo's. Troubleshooting becomes uncertain when throwing Brand X parts that oft...

I tried looking at the order history on ipd but it is listed as aftermarket. I reinstalled what I assume is the old OEM ECT.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

well, not what I did but going to do (hopefully) After returning home from a short drive yesterday, one of our other family drivers said the "Engine Service Required" amber light popped up. All fluids (oil, coolant, brake) checked and good. When I started it last night, the A/C was on. *a...

Re: P2 XC70/V70 stuff

Hi Ejbdunes, Thanks for your response. University of the Pacific? I'm in Woodinville but just retired so lots of time to take a trip your way. Maybe meet part way, like Federal Way or Tacoma? I'll bring it all and see if you might yet be interested in the cargo carpet and splash pan. More intereste...

Re: How-to: Replacing the Thermostat Housing on a Newer P2 Without Touching the Power Steering

Just replaced the thermostat housing using this guide. Only hiccup was losing one of the T40s temporarily. Total time would have been about an hour. Thanks for the write up!
