Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
Well got a little good news for once. Decided to have the parts store trade out the MAF they sold me. While it was Bosch and sold as remanufactured it was very dirty on the outside. The guy almost wouldn't take it back because he said they don't sell dirty parts. But I got it swapped for a clean on....

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
Well I went to the local JY and bought a IACV off a '96 with 150xxx miles. Brought it home and cleaned it up real good, stuck it in and same issue. I am at a loss here. Might go ahead and remove the PCV just to see what up. Any other ideas? Looks like the exhaust is crooked but no leaks as far as I ...

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
Oh and this is a non-turbo. I do have a line that runs from the PCV to the plastic elbow between the MAF and throttle body. I noticed yesterday that when it would surge high smoke would come out of that connection. I removed it and took a look. There was a little oil in there but I wouldn't say it w...

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
Its funny you should mention an exhaust leak be cause yesterday I did notice my muffler we hanging crooked because one of my hangers broke. Could an exhaust leak cause the system to run rich? I just went and started it back up after letting it sit for a few hours and here is what happened. It initia...

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
So maybe it's the IAC. While it was doing its thing I unplugged the MAF and there was zero change. Then I plugged it back in and unplugged the IAC. The RPM eventually stabilized around 700. It stopped surging I would say it began more so to sputter but the RPM didn't change much. Also there was blac...

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
Just called and got the price on the Bosch $139. Just waiting on my ride up there so we can get this party started. If anyone has any other ideas in case this isn't it please feel free to throw more suggestions out there. I still am not 100% that this is it. Because before I started getting this err...

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
My buddy knows the manager at the store where I have bought the MAF and the TPS so I may be able to return both and just get the O2. When I get my MAF back from the store I will add the zip tie. Just for the fun of it I did take off my throttle body and cleaned it up really well, then cleaned all th...

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
Well at this point I'm ready to try anything. The O2 sensor I need to be focused on is the one before the cat right?
