I replaced the O2 sensor, and that code hasn't reappeared, BUT :
Fuel economy has now DROPPED from 15mpg to 13mpg.
Car sounds almost like a small diesel at idle.
The intake/exhaust VVT solenoid errors persist - I'm unsure how to check oil pressure, but haven't had any oil pressure lights ...

XC90 error code woes & poor fuel economy
I've got a 'new to me' '05 XC90 with 180k that has a pretty tremendous service history, but I've been getting engine codes repeatedly and am only averaging 15mpg on the 2.5T engine with conservative driving. Also, I notice some stronger-than-usual exhaust fumes if I'm outside the car at idle ...

Re: Transmission fluid leak...none of the usual suspects
Re: Input seal - Where, physically, is it? I did a google image search and can't really nail it down.
Re: Axle shaft seal - I just can't imagine if it was the thing leaking that there wouldn't be a drip spot off one of those bolts or whatever underneath it at rest.
Dang! I'm losing enough fluid ...

Re: Transmission fluid leak...none of the usual suspects
Reddish. Also, I've been checking dipsticks lately and I'm losing transmission fluid and not oil.
As shown in photo, the weep hole between the transmission and engine is dry; I've never seen leaks there.
Is that pink gasket material at seam in the picture factory? Or is that an indicator of someone ...

Transmission fluid leak...none of the usual suspects
I've had a baffling persistent transmission fluid leak on the '00 Volvo V70XC I bought last year with 155k.
I've cleaned the underside a few times to better help identify the source...I don't see anything leaking from hoses or dipstick o-ring.
Worried that it might be coming from the seal between ...

Re: Timing & CVVT - what the ?
Its a choice of either following the VIDA procedure exactly, then perhaps still having to hunt and peck a tooth, or using a tool to measure the cam flank angle and knowing exactly where it is off.
The VVT tolerance is +-1 tooth or it will code. It wont code immediately, you have to run it to ...

Re: Timing & CVVT - what the ?
The silver thing is the water pump and requires no timing mark alignment
We will find and link to the VVT timing video short;y
Could it be as simple as loosening the 3 bolts on the CVVT cam and retarding it slightly?
I was doing a search and came across this RobertDIY video—

Re: Timing & CVVT - what the ?
The cam sprocket is off by a tooth or two. They probably forgot to load and return the pulley to the marks
Is that the one on the top left with the adjustment bolts in the face? How to correct it?
I redid the white-out marks on that particular cam just now and took another pic (attached).
Am I ...

Timing & CVVT - what the ?
I bought another '00 V70XC recently at auction - 150k in *amazing* cosmetic condition, but it has been throwing a P0014 code—
“’B’ camshaft position - timing over-advanced or system performance Bank 1."
I've been searching the site and checking on things—
The oil looks good, the CVVT reads 4 ohms ...
