Re: V70R fuel return and pump

On these cars, the fuel pump is rarely the problem, most of the times we deal with the pump regulator module FPS and sometimes also with the FPS sensor. Should be: Pump Electronic regulator Module PEM Module was under car and exposed, so would rust. Volvo made new cars with it in the trunk, near th...

Re: Thud when pressing accelerator

I hear a clink each time after the revs let up. There does NOT seem to be much movement in this mount. When I replaced my transmission mount, I was able to wiggle the mount as so much of the rubber was missing and I could see through gaps in the rubber, that were not there on the new same replacemen...

Re: Acts like it’s not getting gas starts then dies

If the throttle was involved, I would expect a code for it, so probably not your issue.

If the exhaust is blocked then the car won't run.

So you still have the issue but no check engine light or stored codes?

Re: Engine stop after acceleration

Error suggests the MAF sensor is reporting maximum air. System considers this to be an error. - Is there too much air - unlikely at the MAF - would require the turbo to be running hard, which is not normal at start up? - Is there a problem with the MAF sensor - dirty, or failed? - Or a problem with ...

Re: Acts like it’s not getting gas starts then dies

01's had problems with the throttle body. The sensor strips would wear and then the engine computer could not determine the throttle position. Might not be your problem. What mileage on your car? Any check engine light? Any codes stored? Do you have the Torque App and a bluetooth ODB2 reader, or Vol...

Re: ATF JWS3309 SERVICE METHOD ?

1. A drain and fill uses the ATF drain plug to drop about half the ATF. Measure the collected fluid and add back the same amount of new ATF fluid via the ATF dipstick (which is the yellow one) hole with a long thin funnel. 2. The Gibbons method uses the ATF pump to pump ATF out of the ATF radiator l...

Re: Cleaning out cooling fins? V70R

If you remove the oil dipstick, be sure to cover the hole with plastic film or a rubber glove or similar if you then spray the area.

I seem to recall that 'oil and water don't mix'!!!!!

Re: 2004 S60 2.5TAWD spark plugs

Oil in the spark plug hole can get onto the plug threads as the plug is unscrewed from the engine (when there is oil in the hole). Clean up any old oil, so the area is dry. replace oil fillet cap seal (1), and do the glove test (2). And check to see if any oil returns. (1) Oil can escape from the oi...

Re: S60 problem with cooling

At 105C, water will be trying to be steam, but if you have an antifreeze/water mix, not only does it not freeze in winter but it will not boil until the temp is higher. You must use antifreeze, and ensure your coolant system can maintain pressure. It is possible the radiator and hose issues are a re...
