Re: Getting jitter in the steering wheel after flushing the power steering fluid Topic is solved

When you pump out the old fluid, it is important to keep adding new fluid on the intake side - drain some out of the return hose, but top up into the reservoir, so the level never goes below low. Then repeat. This ensures that the pump is never running dry which can cause wear, and avoids air gettin...

Did you see how big these tires are?

As oregex points out the new tires are bigger. Do check the numbers on the website he provided. The first number is the tire width in mm: 8.5 and 9.5 in inches. The second number is the height to width ratio. The bigger width and increased height ratio indicate a significantly larger tire. 1. The ne...

Re: SHUNT mod for LED lights question?

You replaced two regular brake bulbs with LED ones. They came with resistors and when either one is disconnected, the bulb fail warning is shown. So this seems quite successful. But when you tried disconnecting the high LED brake light and you got no warning. Here is a test you can do: Replace the o...

Re: 04 S60 2.5T Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir Leak

I saw I was low in washer fluid, topped it up and saw a huge puddle quickly form. My headlight washer pump had rusted and failed. My mechanic just clamped the hose to that pump and removed the pump.

I plan to put in a new pump at some point but have not really missed it.

Re: Another Solution for P2 Inside Door Handle breaking

I have removed the inner door cover many times upgrading my door speakers and then replacing one when it failed. I can see that it might be possible to move the cover away leaving the cable attached but it might put pressure on the 'fix' and break it. The panel would be more likely to be damaged whe...

Re: Any chance of saving carpet?

I really like Nok-out as a deodorizer and cleaner. I used it when I was given a car that had been owned by a smoker (mother-in-law). I would get a headache after being in the car for a few minutes. I had had the car detailed at an auto repair shop but that did not make enough of a difference. After ...

Re: Help with transmission fill bolt

Just in case it was not made clear in the comments above. The bolt, which was changed to a specialized 5 sided bolt to discourage removal, is not for a transmission oil fill hole cover, but retains a ring within the transmission. When unbolted, the ring can rotate out of position and require transmi...

Re: 2001 Volvo S60 throttle problem

The MM ETM position sensor strips wear so that the engine computer is unable to determine the position of the throttle over parts of the sensor track. The computer then cuts power which matches your symptoms. New ETM is likely needed, or Xemodex can repair it. There are contact-less position sensor ...

Re: Speaker replacement - Front Left [Volvo XC70 2006 134k miles]

Crimps are fine, Rattanlle. I just soldered the wires as I had the adapter out of the car, and used the new wire that came with my replacement speaker.

Re: How reliable is the Volvo V70? (2004-2007)

Glove test GeorgeandKira mention the 'glove test'. If the glove inflates, then the PCV system needs to be cleaned. This is usually quite extensive and requires the intake manifold to be removed - perhaps a couple of hundred for the parts and the same for labor. However, the real risk is that the in...
