1998 S70 Are brake vent holes in rotors directional

I replaced the Brake Rotors on my S70 and noticed left side rotor vent holes on my new Zimmerman 302 mm fronts and matching rear Brake Rotors are not in the direction of rotation, as the ones on the right seem to go in the direction of rotation. I think that pattern of holes for ventilation on a Bra...

98 s70 Need to know CORRECT Fuel Pressure

Gentlemen- I am having intermittent #5 misfire and I have done EVERYTHING,(cap, rotor, plugs new plug wires, compression test) and have finally come to low fuel pressure, IPD says 43 lbs per in. at the Schrader Valve, yet Chilton says for a 1998 2.3 T5 is 58 lbs per in. What I really, really want to k...

Re: 1999 S70 T5 - What is normal fuel pressure?

Gentlemen-
The CHILTON Manual says that T5 HPT Fuel Pressure is 58 lbs. per inch. Mine has trouble reaching that but is constant at 50. Good Luck

Re: Lowering Suspension

I have lowered my s70 by buying the IPD lowering/sport springs and they lowered the car by 1.75 inches and they are much easier to get along with than the stock "turbo springs" and I have to say that I flat love the look and the ride, the car handles like it should and it looks flat cool.

1998 S70t5 Inches of Vacuum for s70

Gentlemen- I need to know how many Inches of Vacuum a s70, 2.3 litre turbo motor is supposed to have. One of the guys at IPD told me 20-22 Inches in neutral idling warm. I have heard anything from 18 to 25 Inches and I would like to know once and for all as mine is 18 inches steady and I would like ...

Re: 1998 S70t5 location of all vacuum lines that go to int

Gentlemen- Found and cured the problem, it was a leaky intake manifold gasket, one that I replaced even. Installed new manifold gasket and all is well. To answer my own question there is only one line as Jackburn said and it is the smaller one to the PVC System, all others are vacuum tree oriented. ...

Re: 1999 S70, ''air escaping" sound upon acceleration

Problem is a vacuum leak, just had to replace my intake manifold gasket due to questionable installation done when the PVC system was replaced. When it first began to fail there was an "escaping air" sound on acceleration, soon engine began running rough with a very feral miss at idle. As ...

1998 S70t5 location of all vacuum lines that go to intake

Gentlemen- I found my problem-(I hope) there is a vacuum leak on the left side of the engine, I thought it was the PVC hose, little one where it hooks to the intake with the rubber elbow. I checked it and it was fine, yet there was still a vacuum leak, I need to know if there are any other hoses the...

1998 S70t5 misfire CEL comes on

Gentlemen- This is s70fanman again and I STILL have a miss at idle and now a CEL came on and it shows a #1 cylinder misfire and the Idle is still shaky at best. I have checked for vacuum leaks and my Vacuum Gauge shows about 18-20 inches. I have replaced cap, rotor and spark plug wires to no avail. ...

1998 S70 T5 Misfire at idle, seems to go away on acceleratio

Gentlemen- This one has me at a loss, as my S70 has a definite miss at an idle and I cannot for the life of me find it. I have replaced my plugs, rotor, and bought a set of IPD blue wires, yet cannot get the raggy, feral miss at an idle stopped, I have even gone so far as cleaning my Idle Valve with...
