I've always watched both sides to diagnose.
IMO the high side can be revealing. Not always, but I prefer to watch both.

I'm not sure that the thread size is R-12 ... it measures 3/8" peak to peak. Isn't r12 1/4"?
Sorry... it's been a while and I don't have any gauges, fittings, etc anymore for me ...

You unscrew the high side pressure sensor, provide electric fan air flow to condenser and use an Acme thread R134a line on the Schraeder valve fitting where sensor was unscrewed.
