'06 S80 FWD 2.5T. I've got 225/50/R17 road tires on it and I am trying to find used snow tires for at least a winter or two till upgrade my Volvo.
If I use the stock rims, what other tire sizes can I use? I'll only put like 5k on them over 2 years.
Thanks.

How can an engine code clear itself?
See my other post about my S80 throwing P2135, the code cleared itself somehow. Why would that be?

P2135 code on '06 S80
06' S80 138k miles, stalled once, got it running again. I've put 50 miles on it since no issues. Pulled the codes and I am getting P2135 $0710 Throttle Position. I am in fix it or sell it mode with this vehicle. Scared to death to take it to the local dealer since a few years back my son took it in ...

'06 low beams are horrible
My sons is driving 50 miles back and forth to school now in the '06 S80. Is there anything that can be done to increase the brightness of the standard low beams? He says its like driving with your headlights off... and I believe him the S60 we have is just as bad. Can I use these ? https://www.fcpeu...

Re: Advice on purchasing a 2006 S60?
I spent $5500 on '05 S60 with way less miles 4 years ago. Unless the thing was in mint condition with all the service records, I am sure you will get a better deal elsewhere. My experience is watch out for front suspension issues, I've been fighting them since I bought it. Also, bought a '06 S80 for...

Muffler packing coming out of exhaust pipe
Son drove the '05 S60 up to school today and he noticed muffler packing coming out of the exhaust. Is this a safety issue? I'd rather have him get it home to me later in the week, but 60 mile drive back home worries me. I assume I can just take it to a local shop and have them cut off and replace th...

Re: Passenger Side marker lamp and what's this hose
Ok, sanity restored. For anyone to get that passenger side marker (or is it parking) light out. 1. Remove the hose from the washer reservoir neck. 2. Remove the torx bolt that holds the washer reservoir neck in place. 3. Remove the washer reservoir neck (wiggle it out) 4. Feel around inside near whe...

Passenger Side marker lamp and what's this hose
Not my week for me and my '05 S60. Passenger side marker light how hard could that be to replace, really? Nice description in the owners manual: "Side marker light - Turn the lamp holder counterclockwise and pull it out. - Pull out the defective bulb and insert a new one. - Reinsert the lamp ho...

Re: S60 -- Mechanic is a moron -- can't install a strut
Ok, the saga continues. The shop flipped the strut spacer. They are saying the squeaking noise is coming from the new (warranty replacement Monroe strut) ! ! !
Is this possible, can Monroe struts be this bad? Trying to figure out the way to approach Monroe this time. This is ridiculous.

Re: S60 -- Mechanic is a moron -- can't install a strut
Showed the guy at the shop and I think he was embarrassed that the mechanic had installed the strut spacer upside down. I showed him squeaking noise when I push down on the wheel well, to me it sounds like the spring seat/strut bearing up top (but again at a year old I can't see how that could be), ...
