Re: 1998 S70 T5 Rotational whump noise

Finally got around to jacking it up last night and taking a look. It is definitely the wheel bearing. Could still be in combination, but I'm going to start there. I lifted the front one side at a time and since I didn't have a second person to hit the gas with both wheels up (and I don't trust anyon...

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Rotational whump noise

I took this video yesterday when I got home. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to jack it up and fool around with it. You'll have to ignore the squeaky dash....It was nice and tight but this issue has shaken it loose again. I probably should have put some locktite on the bolts when I fixed the da...

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Rotational whump noise

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to check it out tonight when I get off work. Based on everything else I've had to do to that car (and my luck), I'm sure it's probably all of the above that needs to be replaced. We'll see.

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Rotational whump noise

Oh, I forgot to mention the ABS light is on intermittently. Sometimes is stays on after the initial start up test. Sometimes it comes on later. And sometimes it goes off after a while. Could a bad bearing cause that? It started after I did the struts so hopefully it's coincidence and I didn't break ...

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Rotational whump noise

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP7YNmB1StY This guy has what sounds like pretty much the same as what I have going on. Except his sounds more clicky and less bass-ey than mine. I suppose that could be because the camera mic isn't going to pick up the low tones. I jacked up the driver side and grabbe...

1998 S70 T5 Rotational whump noise

My 98 s70 T5 with 204,000+ miles on it has a rotational whump whump whump sound that I'm trying to diagnose. It seems like every rotation of the wheel/axle it makes the noise. From inside the car it seems like it is coming from the front driver side. I can feel it in the floorboard and apparently th...

Broken sheet metal on door of my '98 S70

The other night, I went to shut the driver door on my S70 and it would only close about halfway. I put more and more pressure on it until it finally closed. I re-opened it and it did the same thing. I looked over the hinges and whatnot and decided the door stop had seized. Took the door panel off an...
